IGNITE Youth Organisation is dedicated to shaping and encouraging African young people to emergence and a life of purpose.
We help them realize their dreams, live to their fullest potential and ultimately impact their communities. We’re all about igniting a generation to create impact and change their world.
Our vision is to raise up a purpose-driven generation of innovative and creative African youth who can contribute to their nation’s development, pursue meaningful careers for themselves and become the next generation of African Leaders
Our mission is to invest in the power of African children and youth (13-29 years) through holistic youth development programs aimed at addressing their needs across 5 foci: purpose-centered career coaching meant to improve employment or/and entrepreneurial outcomes and prospects; building better emotional and mental health; servant leadership development; and girl empowerment. Our 7 programs are designed to be youth-friendly to help them gain the skills and knowledge they need to reach their potential.
Meet the Founder, Tadziripa Madzima
From a young age, Tadzie (for short) had a passion to develop young people to become influential leaders in their local communities, schools and faith based organizations and to become well rounded individuals. She shared where her passion for working with youth came from:
"Growing up with a single parent is special, but it is not easy. If I have learned anything throughout my life on this planet, it is that a single parent will do anything it takes to give you the best possible life they can. Because my mother worked long hours to provide for my siblings and I, she had less time to interact with me about my career and life ambitions. Looking back, I admire that my mother was doing this major task of raising three children alone, which was already quite stressful and difficult on it’s own. Because of this, I had my own rough patches that are unique to growing up in a single parent household. As I got older into my teenage years, I realised I could not go directly to her for any advice on any topic from discovering a purpose for my life and identifying a career path to issues such as struggling friendships. I was also receiving little to no career guidance at school. This is where my passion to start IGNITE Youth Organisation came from. Realising that there were probably many other young people who were in a similar or worse situation to mine, I decided to do something about creating opportunities for young people to access career coaching and to receive mentorship that supports their overall personal growth and develops them into future leaders. I also wanted to increase access to resources and opportunities that would help prepare for the workplace environment or run successful businesses of their own. I started working with the youth in my Church where I became the Youth Leader and Coordinator. Some years later, I realized that I wanted to expand the work I was doing with young people beyond my Church and impact young people across the country in schools, colleges, universities and the community at large. Thus I formed IGNITE Youth Organisation."
My dream is to provide proper, high standard education to children in the rural areas by helping them to get schools built in their communities because it's every child's right to get proper education and a learning space.
I want to encourage girls to take up more ICT related careers and have a Foundation that makes sure it gives back in that regard. I love the Influencers Program as it also helps young entrepreneurs succeed, and helps girls think about becoming entrepreneurs and self-sufficient.
Ignite Bulawayo Co-ordinator and Ignite Creativity Program Leader, Bulawayo
I love leading the Creativity Progra in Bulawayo because I get to learn more by working with different people. This program creates a platform for other creatives to showcase their talents and learn how to earn from it. The Creativity Program also spreads hope across the African continet through the principles of Ubuntu. I'm also passionate about arts so working on what I love gives me purpose fulfillment. My dream is to make a clothing brand that promotes our African culture and identity.
The board is made up of involved and committed individuals who are passionate about young people, and who share and believe
in the mission and vision of IGNITE Youth.

Why Partner with us? Here are our Core Values.
We believe in young people's voices
We let the youth dream and think. We give our youth the tools to collaborate and problem solve, brainstorm and reflect. We empower them to believe that their voice matters without judging or criticizing their ideas.
We believe in Innovation and Fun
We create impactful and relevant programs for youth that foster mutual understanding, respect, and civic engagement among them and their peers. During the programs, youth participate in workshops, community service activities, team building exercises, meetings with community leaders, leadership etc. At the same time we make sure our Programs are engaging and fun for young people. When a young person walks into our youth organisation, we want them to enjoy themselves, to smile, connect with others, to have a good time and to feel comfortable.
We believe in the power of partnerships
We know we can't do this alone. We work closely in partnership with likeminded and youth focused organisations - youth ministries, local and international NGOS, youth-led organisations and networks, churches, national youth councils, youth groups etc - to ensure that all young people can get access to the support they need. Collaborate with usto empower young people and to help them to take the steps they need to achieving their goals.
"It isn't academic education alone that makes people happy. It is "how-to-live" education — how to develop a harmonious, moral life, stronger will power, and spiritual understanding — that will bring happiness. That's where IGNITE's Faith Program helped me a lot."
"For me personally IGNITE Youth Organisation has become a place where I charge batteries for local activities, where I meet really passionate people willing to contribute and support each other and more importantly support Young people in being an active part of bringing positive change to their communities."
I really enjoy the IGNITE's Creative Arts Program. The aim of the project is to give young people with fewer opportunities the chance to express their talent, to tell their own life story and to empower them to see themselves differently. It has really boosted my self esteem!
"I've enjoyed that I am in a group of many young people from across the whole country, who get the opportunity to voice their opinions and make a real difference to the direction of the focus for children and young people."
Youth Worker - Volunteer
"I find that IGNITE Youth Organisation has the network and connections to really allow youth like myself to explore their passions. I've personally had wonderful opportunities to make new friends and learn about what exciting things they're doing in their lives. This is important to me because it eliminates the stigma that teenagers aren't doing anything worthwhile, when in fact there is a lot to celebrate about the work they do."
Youth Worker - Volunteer
I really love volunteering at IGNITE Youth Organisation! I was excited to also meet and work with a group of likeminded, driven individuals, to further the impact that youth have on our country and continent at large. Personally, IGNITE Youth has benefitted me a number of ways. Not only has it allowed me to gain confidence in working with diverse people, but it has also showed me the importance of volunteering, and giving back to the community.
