IGNITE Youth Organisation launches at the Easter Youth Concert in Harare
31 March 2018, Harare, Zimbabwe
IGNITE YOUTH Organisation, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing, equipping and empowering young people to reach their fullest potential, was officially launched at an Easter Concert, dubbed HE IS RISEN, held in Harare, at Food Lovers Market, Avondale Shopping Center, on Saturday 31st of March. The youth organization, which has been doing programs aimed at empowering young people since 2015, held it’s official launch over the Easter Holidays as a way of celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The event saw the attendance of churches such as Church of Worship, Celebration Church Youth Band, New Life Church Youth Band, and solo Gospel performers and artists such as Minista Wadiwa Musiq, Chanda, Tunga and Whistle Inspires. There were performances across various gospel music genres such as dancehall, RnB, reggae, urban grooves, rap, hip-hop and so much more.
The Founder of IGNITE Youth Organisation, Mrs Tadzie Madzima-Bosha outlined the purpose of the organization and what it aims to achieve. “IGNITE Youth organization is dedicated to shaping and encouraging African young people to emergence and a life of purpose. We help them realize their dreams, live to their fullest potential and impact their communities. We do this by bringing various players together to help support young people so they can reach their fullest potential. IGNITE draws together a network of youth leaders, pastors, churches, schools, groups, professionals, organisations and individuals who share a common vision to empower young Africans and to strengthen the potential of young people”.
IGNITE Youth organization does this through 5 main programs namely IGNITE Hope (an outreach program aimed at empowering young people to impact their communities positively), IGNITE Girls (a girl empowerment program aimed at rescuing girls from early pregnancies and helping teenage mothers to reintegrate into society), IGNITE Influencers (a leadership program aimed at mentoring and training young people with skills they need to be successful entrepreneurs and leaders), IGNITE Faith (an interdenominational Christian Program aimed at helping young people develop a deeper relationship with God through a variety of events and activities such as camps and concerts), and IGNITE Creativity (a program aimed at helping young people discover and develop their artistic gifts and talents).
“My passion as a woman, is to empower youth because I believe young people have the power to change the world, and as women we have a tremendous role to play in empowering the future generation. Women are key agents for development. We play a catalytic role towards achievement of transformational economic and social changes required for sustainable development.” Mrs Madzima-Bosha has over 12 years experience as a communications specialist and besides being the Founder of IGNITE Youth Organisation, currently serves as the Africa Communications Manager for an international NGO called Reach for Change. She is also a social entrepreneurs coach, having coached over 80 social entrepreneurs in 7 African countries in communication and marketing skills.
IGNITE Youth Organization aims to continue working with various players in the next couple of months to achieve it’s goals and rollout it’s programs in other cities. “By engaging young people where they're at and empowering them to use their God-given gifts, our goal is to see young people transformed and living to their fullest potential, achieving their dreams and making a difference in their communities,” added Mrs Madzima-Bosha.
