A few qualities Ignite Youth Organization looks for when selecting new members to be a part of the ever growing family.

 

On the 4TH of February 2023 the Ignite Harare family gathered together to welcome the newest members of the organization at the first member’s induction of the year hosted at ZIFFT. From old members who have been with the organization from birth to the board of directors representatives, Executive board member Suraiya  Essof, Human Resources and Chief Operations Director Abel Muparadzi, as well as the founder and Director of Ignite,  Tadzie Madzima.

On the 4TH of February 2023 the Ignite Harare family gathered together to welcome the newest members of the organization at the first member’s induction of the year hosted at ZIFFT. From old members who have been with the organization from birth to the board of directors representatives, Executive board member Suraiya  Essof, Human Resources and Chief Operations Director Abel Muparadzi, as well as the founder and Director of Ignite,  Tadzie Madzima.

Blessing Sikireta, Ignite Influencers’ Head of Programs and his Vice, Yemurai Vera took up the mantle of being the directors of ceremony facilitating the event they kicked it off with a stand-up comedy presentation, screened by ZIFFT which had the inductees and members in fits of laughter and awe. Josh Chikwizo the head of the Gentlemen of Purpose came in as an ice breaker with his exhilarating games which had the masses tip toing around each other and thinking on over drive in order to win. His version of the game Would You Rather had members scrambling for answers.

 

The floor was left open for Suraiya Essof to welcome the inductees to the family and graduate them from the title inductees to official members, she stressed the importance truly believing in the organization and being fully willing to play a role in not only the organization but the community at large. Suraiya urged the members to work on themselves, to be individuals who are able to communicate effectively, members who are able to listen attentively, to build relationships based on trust and empathy stating these are qualities of good, effective leaders. She concluded her speech by encouraging all members to take full advantage of the opportunities that come their way, building their social capital and nurturing their humanity and wishing them the best on the journey they are to embark on with Ignite.

An unexamined life is not worth living. These were words delivered by Abel Muparadzi in a remarkable inspirational speech on “knowing thy self”.  Abel pointed out key points necessary in self-profiling. These points included discovering one’s strengths, weakness’ discovering one’s passion, knowing one’s talents, skills and gifts then using these qualities and challenges to fulfil your purpose. He went on to give a testimony on how he overcame his weaknesses and those weaknesses helped mould him into the man he is today. Flavie Brandy Bee and Millz Million gave amazing performances that had the audience on their feet, singing along to the catchy lyrical ingenious. Nichola Carr gave a testimonial on her trials and tribulations in life as a teenage mother, according to Nichola finding her purpose helped her navigate the hard times. She concluded her speech by encouraging the young members that together they can conquer anything that comes their way.

The event was cut short by the rains but it left a lasting impression on the young members Tadzie Madzima concluded the event by educating the new members on what ignite stands for, she emphasized the importance of purpose in living a fulfilling life. The question and answer segments at the end of each presentation kept the atmosphere of the event interactive, humorous and helped each member gain deeper understanding. When asked to describe their experience in one word the new members used intriguing, exciting, different and looking forward to what Ignite brings to the table next.
