Meet the Founder and Director

Founder and Executive Director

Tadzie Madzima

The economic situation in most countries is forcing many parents to concentrate mainly on making sure their children are fed and sheltered. The end result is they overlook other aspects of a child’s life that need attention like psychosocial support and guidance.

Tadzie Madzima was raised by a single mother who was multitasking and had a lot on her plate. Tadzie thought opening up to my mother and seeking advice and direction would be like adding more weight to the heavy burden she already had.

By not telling her mother about her teenage concerns, she thought she was being helpful, but it led to a lot of crisis and confusion when she was young. Because of this experience, she developed a passion to help young people gain access to mentorship that would give them guidance on their career path.

Realising that there were probably many other young people who were in a similar or worse situation to hers, she decided to do something about creating opportunities for young people to access career coaching and to receive mentorship that supports their overall personal growth and develops them into future leaders. She also wanted to increase access to resources and opportunities that would help prepare for the workplace environment or run successful businesses of their own.

She started working with the youth in her church where she became the youth leader and Coordinator. Some years later, she realized that she wanted to expand the work she was doing with young people beyond her church and impact young people across the country in schools, colleges, universities and the community at large. Thus she formed IGNITE Youth Organisation, a one-stop centre to help young people get support and provide them with access to career guidance and coaching.

Tadzie Madzima has chosen to a purposeful path, one that empowers and guides young minds on their journey in life to find their purpose, and live life with passion. She is an award-winning life coach who empowers and inspires individuals to live purpose-driven, authentic, bold, and courageous lives through self-awareness, acceptance, discovery, and living their purpose passionately. She is a servant leader, a firm believer in living with purpose, and an advocate for youth-led social change.

“When you live your life with a purpose, you are much more in control of your long-term happiness. You won’t have the feeling like you’re just drifting, working towards some vague goal that doesn’t make you happy.” – she says

In 2018, she was selected as a Fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders and spent 6 weeks at the University of Texas Austin McCombs School of Business. In 2020, she was selected as one of the honorees of JCI Zimbabwe Junior Chamber International’s Top Outstanding Young Persons. She also won the Youth Mentorship Award in Shield Foundation’s 2020 Zimbabwe’s Women of Excellence Awards and was also featured in Bulawayo-based Amahle Magazine as one of Zimbabwe’s 25 Influential women.

She was also featured in the Simuka-Arise Hidden Gem’s video series. And in 2021, she was selected as a Gratitude Fellow by the US-based leadership development organization, The Gratitude Network. Tadzie also offers life coaching, speaking and mentorship services to individuals, organizations and companies alike.

Besides being the Founder of IGNITE Youth Organisation, Tadzie is a communications and marketing guru with over twelve years experience in creating high-impact marketing campaigns for both corporate and nonprofit organizations. She has served in leadership roles for international organizations and has provided training in marketing and communications skills to more than 300 social entrepreneurs and start-ups across the globe in the areas of branding, marketing, fundraising, storytelling, and pitching.
