In September, the Ignite team travelled to Bulawayo for the Mental Health Colorfest and Open-Mic at Zimbabwe School of Mines. The morning session compromised of presentations from the Ignite Youth Organization members who have dealt with mental health issues and those who have studied social sciences University level. Tinashe Takarwa presented on defining mental health and self awareness, Nobuhle Mhlanga presented on mental health challenges in college and after college, whilst Talent Sibanda presented on mental health and relationships which exist between parents, friends, spouses, partners etc.
Afternoon activities included a color festival paired with Zumba class led by Tinashe Takarwa and Chris Shoko from the Ignite team. DJ Nopsa carried the day into the evening concert where other DJ’s joined him on rotation. The stage was lit with performances by Maweqa Fanilla, Elluzhen, Voltz JT and Enzo Ishall. What an electric way to end the Mental Health Festival.
